Jewellery Care
As with all jewellery that has been made from precious metals, Aurelium jewellery is delicate and should be handled with care. Below are some tips for looking after your handcrafted jewellery so that it lasts a lifetime.
- Apply moisturiser, makeup, perfume and hairspray prior to putting on jewellery.
- Avoid wearing sterling silver jewellery in swimming pools and spas with chlorine.
- Never sleep in your jewellery.
- After wearing your jewellery, rub it with a soft cloth (e.g. microfibre) before storing it away.
- Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time when exposed to sulphur and acids in the environment. In order to slow down tarnish, store your jewellery in a small ziplock bag with the black anti-tarnish tab that is provided in your jewellery packaging. This will also help to prevent scratches and rubbing against other surfaces.
- To remove tarnish from your sterling silver jewellery, use a polishing cloth specifically designed for use with silver. These can be purchased from most jewellery stores. Note: do not polish oxidised or gold-plated silver with a silver polishing cloth.
